Raksha Research and Development is a R & D company focused on the Defence sector in digitization and process automation. Our best-in-class solution “SAHAS” for Kote Digitization, Automation & Management is implemented in the Armed Forces. We are proud to be a part of the Defence Forces modernization story since 2019. Our systems are engineered around real operational environments, ensuring high security, scalability, reliability, and ease of deployment across defence establishments.

Secure RFID Technology Systems

SAHAS uses RFID and not Barcode?


RFID tags are durable, can store more information and multiple tags can be scanned at the same time, making them ideal for tracking high-value assets with long lifecycle and assets that are difficult to scan. They also don’t require line of sight, meaning they can be read even if hidden from view.


However, RFID tags are more expensive and can be more difficult to implement.


Barcode tags are best suited for tracking low-value assets or assets that are easy to scan. They are also a good choice for companies that do not need to track a large number of assets. Barcode labels are less expensive than RFID tags and are easier to implement, making them a good choice for small businesses with assets within physical reach or businesses on a tight budget. Barcode labels require line-of-sight to be read and can only be read one at-a-time, while RFID scanners can read multiple tags at once. Additionally, barcode labels are fragile and can damage easily unlike RFID tags that have high durability.

RFID is a technology that uses radio waves to identify and track objects.

What is an RFID Tag?

RFID tag is small devices that contains an antenna and a chip that stores digital information of the tagged object. RFID tags can be read through nonmetallic materials, and a reader does not have to touch a tag, making RFID ideal for cluttered, dirty, wet, and harsh environments


RFID tags come in different shapes and sizes, materials, readability depending on application.

There are two types of RFID tags.

• Passive RFID Tags: Passive RFID tags don’t have their own power source, so they must be placed close to the RFID scanner for the tag to be read.

• Active RFID Tags: Active RFID tags have their own power source, which allows them to transmit their signal over long distances (~ 100 meters).
